APPLYING STATISTICAL TECHNIQUES

Course Objective:This course introduces basic analysis methodologies to measure error rates, track and resolving problems and measuring customer satisfaction. The student will be able to identify, track, measure and resolve quality related problems within their management systems.

Prerequisite: None

Duration of Course: 8 hours

Course Description: This course will discuss and teach effective management system methods to collect, determine and analyze data in order to determine the suitability and effectiveness of manufacturing practices and processes. Such analysis areas covered will include:

· Measuring Customer satisfaction
· Conformity to product requirements
· Characteristics and trends of processes and products
· Measuring process results
· Identifying and measuring product characteristics
· How to write procedures related to problem solving
· Pareto Charts and Pareto Analysis will be discussed
· Brainstorming
· Cause and Effect Diagrams

Students will draft a procedure that covers such activities as measurement and monitoring of products, measurement and monitoring of processes, analysis of data and measuring customer satisfaction.
