Quality Paradigms training and consulting, inc. is located in northern Pennsylvania. Our size allows us to focus on each individual assignment and personally serve each client. Karen M. Brink, President and CEO founded Quality Paradigms training & consulting, inc. in 1995 after seeing a need for professional consulting services that lead companies to implementing and maintaining effective quality management systems. This was a result of auditing many companies that used consultants that did not understand the ISO 9000 Standards. Karen has personally lead in excess of 100 manufacturing, service industry, education and government clients to successful ISO certification, many with no findings. She is a Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) Certified Quality Management Systems Lead Assessor and is lead instructor for the IRCA / IATCA 40 hour Accredited Lead Assessor/Assessor Course and the Accredited IRCA Internal Auditor Course.

Karen has acted as auditor or lead auditor on over 200 registration audits with a number of accredited registrars. She was the Lead Auditor at the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Property Management in Washington, DC and the Kelsey-Seybold Occupational Medicine clinic at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. She led the certification audit team of the first JCAHO Accredited hospital in North America to achieve ISO Registration. Karen worked with the US Navy Quality Institute near Washington, DC to draft a cross walk between the ISO 9001 Standard and the JCAHO Accreditation Standard.

She is a Fellow of the Pennsylvania State University Lehigh Valley National Writing Project and is a Member of the American Society for Quality. She specializes in ISO 9001:2000 QMS, cGMP’s, Food GMP’s, HACCP, ISO 17025, Medical Device Directives and ISO 13485 and ISO/TS16949. Karen has expertise working with government agencies, healthcare and service industries as well. She assisted the first school district in North America to achieve successful ISO 9000 certification as well as staffing firms and several full service acute care hospitals.

James J. Bederka, Director of Contosortium & New Business Development Jim Bederka is an integeral part of our team approach helping our clients. He has a broad range of program development experience and skill development experience and skill development knowledge. Until recently, Jim has had a long and distinguished career with the New Jersey Department of Labor. prior to his retirement, he served as Bureau Chief of the Office of Customized Training. In that capacity he oversaw the annual distribution of over $40 million of job training grants to New Jersey businesses.
